Guy Thair's The Wrong Stuff is a hell of a read! Right from the opening, each page pulls you seamlessly from one to the other, always wanting to find out what happens next. It's a time-travel romp which hurtles forward with nary a pause. For myself, I would have loved a good deal more detail (I love lengthy drawn-out stories)... but if I'm being honest, I think the lack of extra (probably unneeded) detail helps keep the narrative moving at a breakneck pace! The main protagonist is a delight to watch go through her journey. Sometimes nail-biting, other times humorous. The collection of characters which join her on her adventure are just as memorable as she, some despicable, others endearing.
I had some issue with the end, not in the way it ends specifically, but his interpretation of time travel, and how things would work in that instance, as I think a few readers will as well. But these minor details are easy to overlook, and easier still to dismiss because the overall read is done so well.
I think this is a fantastic first release for an independent author, and I only hope he has more coming down the line!
The Wrong Stuff gets a solid 4 & 1/4 stars from me! Check it out! I doubt you'll be disappointed.
